Description

We make every effort to have an excellent counselor to camper ratio. This ensures quality instruction and individual attention. It will include Tulane coaches, current players and other coaches from around New Orleans area.

 

 

Players Receive
– A Tulane Baseball Shirt
– Advanced lectures & instruction in the fundamentals of the game. 
– Fundamental drills for throwing, hitting, fielding and much more. 
– The Rules of the Game.
– Sportsmanship & being a good teammate. 
– Access to the Tulane Baseball Facilities: Indoor cages and playing field.
– Opportunity to meet the Tulane Baseball Coaching Staff and players.
– Water & Lunch will be provided.  

 

Campers will learn all phases of the game to help beginners become well-developed players and compete in live game play.

 

Equipment
Each camper must bring their own baseball equipment. Players for this camp should bring bats, helmets, turf shoes or molded cleats only (for indoor facility), hat, baseball pants and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. We will not have any bats or batting gloves available for your personal use throughout the camp. We can provide batting helmets ONLY. Tulane Baseball camps requests each camper place his name and phone number on all equipment and items.

 

Facilities: Tulane Baseball Camps are held at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, which is located at the north end of the Tulane University campus.

 

Training Staff: As required, we have a certified NATA trainer at our camp to attend to the medical needs of the campers.

 

Inclement Weather
In case of inclement weather, Greer Field at Turchin Stadium is equipped with an all turf surface and indoor practice facility that includes 4 x 70-foot batting cages and a regulation clay pitching mound with multiple rubbers. Camp will begin regardless of inclement weather, however, the scheduled event times may be altered.

 

Drop-off/pick-up & Parking
If you are being dropped off and picked up for camp each day, please use Ben Weiner Drive and the drop-off & pick-up point will be at the entry gate of Turchin Stadium. If you are parking for the day, we have two locations near the baseball stadium that may require a parking fee. The Rosen Lot is FREE and is located right off of S. Claiborne Ave behind our outfield fence and the other is in the Diboll Parking Garage, located on Ben Weiner Drive.

 

Check-in

All campers will register from 8:00am-9:00am on the first day camp at Turchin Stadium.

 

Waiver Information

Tulane University requires Camp Waiver forms and Medical forms to be filled out properly, signed and brought to registration. Download Waiver Form

 

Directions

Turchin Stadium is on the north end of Tulane’s campus. It is on Ben Weiner Drive, which is a one-way street going north. 

 

From the East: Take I-10 west to the Claiborne Avenue exit (the only exit on the left, don’t get caught in the right lane). Go down Claiborne about three miles and past seven traffic signals. Take a left on Calhoun, then a right on Willow. Ben Weiner Drive is the next immediate right. 

 

From the West: Take I-10 East to the Carrollton Avenue exit (the second exit after the I-10/I-610 split). The exit will put you right on Carrollton, so go down about a mile until you reach Claiborne Avenue at a lighted intersection. Go through the intersection and make a u-turn back toward Claiborne and turn right on Claiborne. Go past the traffic light, which will be Broadway, and take a right on Audubon Blvd. (not Audubon Street). Take a left on Willow and go through the stop light. At the next light, turn left onto Ben Wiener Drive

 

Miscellaneous Information

Refund Policy / Cancellation Protection
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 7 days prior to the start of camp. If you cancel within 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date. Outside of our Cancellation Protection policy, there are NO REFUNDS for any reason.

 

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.
