Description
Come join the Rice Coaching staff as we take you through an individual assessment of your pitching identity. Using our state of the art MARKERLESS motion capture system from KinaTrax, AMTI force plates, Trackman ball flight system, Edgertronic video and a functional movement screening, we will be able to assess how you move on the mound and give you a plan to help develop you into the pitcher you want to become. As you participate in this experience you will have the opportunity to learn from:

- Adam Gurin: Baseball Analytics Coordinator
At the conclusion of your time within the Pigpen, we will set up a half hour meeting with you (Zoom) to discuss our report on you. Everything discussed will conclude with correctives that we suggest for you as the pitcher! This will include:
- Detailed Motion Capture report
- Detailed Force Plate data
- TrackMan Ball Flight
- Edgertronic Video
*Rice Baseball Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, and grade level)

Camp Philosophy
The growth and success of Rice Baseball Camps are primarily due to the baseball team’s long history of success on the diamond. This history includes 197 players drafted by the MLB, 7 College World Series Appearances, and 1 National Championship. Head coach Jose Cruz Jr., a graduate of Rice University and 12-Year Major-Leaguer, will be in attendance for all of our camps. Our ultimate goal is to provide our knowledge and expertise to help grow each individual’s love for the game of baseball.
What to Bring
- Cleats – To warm up on the field
- Turfs – To throw on our indoor mound
- Any and all tools used to warm up i.e. Bands, Plyos etc.
Meals
This is a 1 hour camp and food will not be provided.
Weather
In case of inclement weather, all camp activities will remain at Reckling Park in the indoor pitching and hitting facilities.
Check-In
Check In will be at the main gate leading into Reckling Park. You will park in the parking lot down the Right Field Line. Please arrive 15 prior to start time.

Please park near the back of the parking lot as our team and coaching staff will need access to the parking lot as well.

Refund Policy
Only camp credit for future events is granted for cancellations. Refunds are granted on a case-by-case basis only. Cancellations received within 72 hours of the start of the event will not be granted refunds regardless of circumstance.
Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.
