Description

Our Crimson Winter Softball Clinic offers players the opportunity to receive quality instruction from exceptional and experienced softball coaches.  The Harvard University Coaching Staff and players have designed and implemented a camp format to help players of advanced skills levels, grades 9-12. This clinic is open to any and all entrants.

Our clinic staff this year includes the Harvard University Coaching Staff along with current HSB players.

9:00am-11:30am Offensive and Defensive Skills and Drills
11:30am-12:30pm Lunch Break
12:45pm-3:30pm Games
4:00pm Wrap-up and End of Camp

 

Clinic Goals

Hitting

Improve hitting technique with varied drills.

 

Defense

Improve general fundamentals of pitching, catching, infield, and outfield defense and learn game-day skills.

Equipment

Each player must bring her own softball equipment and attire.  We recommend wearing your softball uniform with long sleeves.  Please bring a sweatshirt as well in case the bubble is colder in the morning.  The bubble surface is turf so plastic cleats, turf shoes or tennis shoes are permitted.

Metal spikes are not allowed in any facility.

Crimson Softball rents Harvard University’s facilities but is neither sponsored nor controlled by Harvard University.

Harvard University COVID/Campus Protocols

  • Masks are always required for all individuals while indoors, including while participating in athletic activity.
  • We strongly encourage all participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to participating in activity at Harvard University.

o   All participants in athletic activities on campus will be required to be age 12 and up.

o   We cannot require the COVID-19 vaccine for participants at this time.

  • Participants are expected to abide by the Harvard University Official Visitor policy:

o   Official visitors (participants) are encouraged to receive a COVID-19 test on the day of arrival through a local clinic or pharmacy at their own expense.

o   Provide notification if a test for COVID-19 returns positive results within 48 hours of being on campus.

  • Spectators are permitted; must abide by current Harvard COVID-19 policy including wearing an acceptable face covering at all times while indoors.
  • Indoor eating is prohibited. Participants may briefly remove their mask for hydration purposes.
  • Participants and spectators will not enter Harvard grounds or facilities if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19.

Enter the complex through Gate 8 off North Harvard Street. Follow the road around and park in the visitor parking lot behind the baseball field. Walk towards the football stadium scoreboard, the entrance to the bubble is on field level under the scoreboard.

Meals

Please bring a water bottle, we will have refill stations at the clinic.  We are waiting on guidance regarding permissible food consumption indoors.  Details on lunch will be released closer to the date of the event. We will either provide lunch at camp or there will be a break for lunch that campers may bring their own or return to camp after going to get lunch.

 

Accommodations

This is not an “overnight” clinic. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own accommodations. Information on local hotels can be found under Crimson FAQs.

Refunds

We will give a full refund minus the 7% processing fee up until January 1.  Beyond January 1st a 50% refund will be given.
